SEC CIO Spring Summit

OU IT hosted this year's SEC CIO get-together in Norman

From April 6–8, 2026, 19 IT leaders from 11 peer institutions from across the Southeastern Conference gathered for candid exchange on the issues defining higher-education IT in 2026, including:

Infrastructure investment under flat budgets
AI strategy and adoption
Workforce design
Governance models

The group heard from a few guest speakers, including the following: Dr. Shishir Shah (OU Chief AI Officer), Stewart Berkinshaw (OU Sr. VP, Strategy & Finance), Keith Brown (OU IT Business Office), and Brad Newton (Gartner).

This group of IT leadership aims to meet twice a year at different SEC campuses to connect and collaborate for the benefit of their institutions. OU IT enjoyed sharing the Norman campus and included a tour of the National Weather Center. OU IT appreciates all who traveled to Oklahoma to participate!
