PACS Alumni Spotlight: Jamie Reed

Alumni Spotlight: Jamie Reed

Jamie Reed.

This December, Jamie Reed will graduate from the University of Oklahoma’s College of Professional and Continuing Studies (PACS) with a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership, a milestone that reflects years of determination, growth, and grit.

For the past decade, Jamie has worked full-time at ONEOK, Inc. in Tulsa, where she serves as university relations recruiter and internship leader. Balancing a demanding career with her academic goals, she pursued her degree online through OU’s PACS program, supported by ONEOK’s tuition reimbursement benefit—a resource she’s deeply grateful for. Jamie’s journey to higher education began in 2019, but personal loss and the COVID-19 pandemic delayed her plans. In 2021, she enrolled at Tulsa Community College through the College Park Program, joining a cohort of 15 students. She was one of only two to complete the program, and Jamie’s academic excellence earned her honors and attention from transfer recruiters at a variety of well-known universities.

When she received an invitation to apply to PACS, Jamie was drawn in by the personalized outreach, quick communication, scholarship opportunities, and a warm welcome—including a gift box that made her feel truly seen. The Organizational Leadership program’s structure and flexibility aligned perfectly with her professional life and personal goals.

Throughout her professional and academic journey, Jamie has faced significant challenges yet remained committed to fulfilling a promise she made to her mother. Her strength, leadership, and perseverance have made her a finalist for the Outstanding Senior Award in PACS, and she’s now considering graduate studies.

Jamie credits two influential women mentors for guiding her path and celebrates the friendships and support she’s found along the way. She embodies the PACS spirit—resilient, driven, and committed to lifelong learning. We’re proud to celebrate her journey and look forward to seeing her graduate this December.
