The official governing body of The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University, and Rogers State University is the Board of Regents, composed of seven citizens appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the State Senate. Each Regent serves a seven-year term.
Chairman of the Board of Regents for 2009-2010 is A. Max Weitzenhoffer, prominent Broadway and London theatre producer; Vice Chairman is Larry R. Wade, editor and publisher of the Elk City Daily News.
Other members of the Board are ophthalmologist John M. Bell of Norman; Leslie J. Rainbolt-Forbes, M.D. of Oklahoma City; Richard R. Dunning, Oklahoma City businessman; Tom Clark, Tulsa aviation-industry businessman; and Jon R. Stuart, Tulsa businessman.
Chris A. Purcell, Ph.D., is the Executive Secretary of the Board of Regents, Vice President for University Governance, and Secretary of The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University, and Rogers State University.
