Board of Regents

Welcome

The official governing body of The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University, and Rogers State University is the Board of Regents, composed of seven citizens appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the State Senate. Each Regent serves a seven-year term.

Chairman of the Board of Regents for 2008-2009 is Jon R. Stuart, Tulsa businessman; Vice Chairman is A. Max Weitzenhoffer, prominent Broadway and London theatre producer.

Other members of the Board are Larry R. Wade, editor and publisher of the Elk City Daily News; ophthalmologist John M. Bell of Norman; Leslie J. Rainbolt-Forbes, M.D. of Oklahoma City; Richard R. Dunning, Oklahoma City businessman and Tom Clark, Tulsa aviation-industry businessman.

Chris A. Purcell, Ph.D., is the Executive Secretary of the Board of Regents, Vice President for University Governance, and Secretary of The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University, and Rogers State University.
