Gunnery Sergeant Bohan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in November of 2012 as a 1171, Water Support Technician. He graduated as a contract Private First Class from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. Upon completion of Boot Camp and Marine Combat Training, reported to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for formal MOS training.
In April of 2013 PFC Bohan was Meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal, and assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Okinawa, Japan where he served as an Operations Clerk. During his time at MWSS 172 LCpl Bohan was promoted all the way to the rank of Sergeant. He was engaged in multiple pre-deployment training events and supplied assets and supplies to multiple humanitarian exercises.
In October 2015, Sgt Bohan reported to Combat Logistics Company 23, Beaufort, South Carolina. He served as the Platoon Sergeant and Maintenance Chief. During his time as CLC 23 Sgt Bohan received recognition for outstanding performance during the Field Supply and Maintenance Analysis Office inspection for his work as the Maintenance Chief.
Sgt Bohan was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in July 2018 and reported to Drill instructor School East. SSgt Bohan reported to 2nd RTR BN Fox Co as a Drill instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. SSgt Bohan also served at Instructor Support Company as the Pool Deck swim instructor trainer until October 2021.
Upon completion of his tour at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC, SSgt Bohan reported to 7th Engineer Support Battalion, Camp Pendleton California. Where he held the billets of Section Leader and Platoon Sergeant. During his time at 7th ESB, GySgt Bohan deployed to Peleliu, Palau apart of Marine Corps Engineer Company Forward. During this Deployment SSgt Bohan Served as the Platoon Sergeant and the Operations Chief. Apon returning SSgt Bohan was promoted to Gunnery sergeant in August of 2023.
In August of 2023 GySgt Bohan reported to Marine Air Control Group 38, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. He served as the Ground Safety Manager and the Company First Sergeant for Headquarters Company.
In January 2025 GySgt Bohan became the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor at The University of Oklahoma in Norman.
GySgt Bohan’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and three gold stars in lieu of 4th award, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with three bronze stars in lieu of 4th award.
He currently resides in Norman, OK.
