Julie has a Bachelor of Music Education and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Clinical Professional Counseling. Julie is very involved on campus as an Academic Advisor for a variety of undergraduate majors and a Counselor with the UCC. As an undergraduate student, Julie participated in the Pride of Oklahoma and was the 65th Drum Major. She is passionate about serving the OU community and advocating for her students as they find their place here at OU.
As a band nerd, I love that the Pride sings the chant at the end of every football game! If you stay all the way to the end you even get a private performance from the Pride!
It is such an honor to watch students grow and find their way at the University. For many students, this is a big transition and an opportunity to explore their independence in a place with so many opportunities. I enjoy being a resource for this growth and am passionate about helping students to feel motivated and excited about their future.
Get to know your professors! Sit at the front of the class and don't be afraid to ask questions or send emails following class with things you're curious about. This will help you to stay more engaged and form connections that can help you in the future!
