Kaden Schaberg is a dedicated Graduate Assistant at the University of Oklahoma’s Student Learning Center, where he supports the scheduling, training, and strategic development of student tutoring programs. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics and is currently pursuing his MBA, combining analytical rigor with a passion for educational innovation. As a lifelong OU fan, Kaden brings enthusiasm and leadership to every role he undertakes. Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, he enjoys restoring and maintaining classic Japanese vehicles from the 1990s and early 2000s—particularly Toyotas. He also finds balance in the outdoors, spending time hiking and camping with his loyal pitbull mix, Koda.

One of my favorite traditions at the University of Oklahoma is the annual #AskMe event. I love seeing the bright, excited faces of new students as they arrive on campus. Being one of the first people they interact with is something I take seriously—it’s a chance to set a positive tone for their entire college experience. Helping them feel welcomed and supported from day one is incredibly rewarding, and it’s a tradition I’m proud to be part of.

What I love most about working with students are the individual interactions. Sometimes they see you as a mentor, other times just a good friend—but either way, you become a meaningful part of their journey. Taking the time to talk, listen, and support them each day creates a lasting impact. Whether it’s offering guidance or simply being a familiar face, you’re important to every single student you connect with—and that’s something I never take for granted.

The best advice I can give is this: don’t lose confidence in your own abilities. One bad test doesn’t define you—it’s not a measure of your worth or potential. Every year, thousands of students graduate having made far bigger mistakes, and they still move forward. A single setback doesn’t mean you’ve failed; it just means you’re learning. So don’t let one moment shake your belief in yourself. You’re capable of so much more than you think.
