First-Year Learning & Engagement

Courses and programs offered through First-Year Learning and Engagement focus on developing students into learners and leaders. Transition courses are designed to assist students in successfully transitioning from high school to university learning. University Seminar courses provide opportunities for students of all classifications to learn how to learn through in-depth discovery of a topic of interest.

Students are trained to serve as peer leaders in these courses through FYLE's Peer Teaching Assistant program. In addition, FYLE offers leadership development through this and other programs including OU's award-winning Alpha Lambda Delta chapter.
