I left my mark at Gaylord College as a Gaylord Ambassador, a role I held from freshman to senior year. I loved connecting with students and faculty, contributing to the Gaylord community, and introducing prospective students to everything the college offers. It was an incredibly rewarding leadership experience that let me serve a community that shaped my college experience and help future Sooners find their place.
The most welcoming people you'll ever meet! At OU, strangers quickly become friends, and friends become family. There's a genuine sense of belonging here, built on people who show up for one another, offer encouragement, and make you feel like you're part of something bigger than yourself.
Defeating Alabama in 2024! That's "Sooner Magic" at its finest: taking on a challenge, defying the odds, and making history. The energy in that moment was unforgettable, and rushing the field made it even better! It's one of my favorite college memories!
The friendships and mentorships that became family. I was fortunate to have classmates and faculty who poured into me throughout my time at OU, encouraged me to grow, and helped shape the person I am today. Even after graduation, I still turn to those same people for guidance, encouragement, and connection.
The balcony at Gaylord College will always hold a special place in my heart! It's where I first realized OU was more than just a home; it was a place full of possibility and opportunity. I spent a good portion of my time there as a student, whether studying, hanging out with friends, or hosting movie nights. It's easily one of my favorite places on campus!
The "Boomer Sooner" chant! I love hearing it echo across Norman on game days, and especially after a win over Texas at the Red River Rivalry. But what makes it so special is the connection it creates between Sooners everywhere. I've lost count of how many times I've been in another state wearing an OU shirt when someone walks by, calls out "Boomer!" and I instinctively respond, "Sooner!" No matter where you are, it's an instant connection with someone who shares a piece of your OU Family.
Explore, explore, explore! Whether it's discovering new places on campus, trying a new major, or getting involved in clubs and organizations, don't be afraid to try something new! Don't spend your college years hiding in your dorm room or sitting in the back of a lecture hall. OU offers so many opportunities, and sometimes the best ones are just outside your comfort zone. Say yes to new experiences, meet new people who challenge and inspire you, and discover a world beyond your own. You never know where it might lead!
