As a student, where did you leave your mark on campus?

I found my passion with working with high school students as they transitioned into college. I was involved with the Sooner Discovery program as a Discovery Guide, with Camp Crimson as a counselor, and with High School Leadership Council as an exec team member.

Define the OU family in your own words.

The OU family is an intentional effort made by OU staff, faculty and students to foster belonging and care for each other. To make OU home for all those who come to campus.

When was the moment you felt the greatest Sooner pride?

I get to work phenomenal programs with like Sooner Discovery and Concurrent Enrollment. With these programs, students come onto campus nervous and unsure and then at some point, they start to feel more comfortable and start to find such joy in their OU experience. Watching students find their home here gives me the greatest Sooner pride.

What was the greatest gift you took with you after graduation?

After graduation, my greatest gift was the friendships that I made and the mentors that followed me throughout my life. These relationships were the ones who helped form me as a person. My greatest supporters and dearest friends.

Reveal one secret about campus.

Campus is full of really unique and beautiful nature that often goes unnoticed. As a novice bird watcher it's been fun to see the birds that are attracted to campus, there's actually a rare bird called a Yellow-crowned night heron that nests every year by the Sam Noble Museum.

What is your favorite OU tradition?

I love walking through on Homecoming Weekend and seeing all the chalk art competition along the South Oval. Organizations get so creative and it's fun to see how they weave in the year to year themes!

What advice do you have for prospective students?

My advice is to not be afraid to try something new and to experience all that campus has to offer. This season of your life offers so much space for growth and learning more about yourself, you never know what club or event or friend will make a huge impact on your life!
