At my alma mater, I left my mark as a First-Year Mentor, where I supported and guided new students through their transition to college life. I was honored to receive the First-Year Mentor of the Year award for the 2020-21 academic year.
To me, the OU family means showing up for one another, in the big moments and the small ones. It's about being part of a community that genuinely cares, supports, and celebrates together.
I felt the greatest Sooner pride watching the OU softball team win their fourth straight Women's College World Series with my mom. Coming from a big softball family, it was such a special moment to see that kind of hard work pay off.
The greatest gift I took with me after graduation was the friendships I built along the way. These relationships challenged me to grow, kept me grounded, and reminded me of the power of community, both personally and professionally.
One fun secret about campus is that OU offers ghost tours! It's such a cool way to learn about the university's history, legends, and hidden stories you may not hear on a regular tour.
I really love the Bedlam rivalry game in football. The excitement, passion, and the way the whole campus comes alive make it such a memorable and unique part of being a Sooner.
Get involved early and find your community! College is what you make of it, and building connections can make all the difference in both your experience and success.
