Rebecca Johnson

Rebecca is a Transfer Admissions Counselor at the University of Oklahoma. She helps students navigate the transfer admission process while providing guidance on OU's programs, application procedures, and financial aid options.

Born and raised in rural Oklahoma, Rebecca moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma, to pursue her degree at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. She graduated in 2022 with her Bachelor's of Arts in Theatre, with an emphasis in arts management, stage management, and acting. Her background includes serving as a student tour guide during her undergraduate years and working in admissions at universities throughout central Oklahoma. As a first-generation college graduate, Rebecca is passionate about helping students find their "home away from home" and connecting them with the people and resources that can support their educational journey. She understands navigating higher education can feel overwhelming and strives to make the process feel a little more approachable for every student she works with.

What is your best advice for a high school junior or senior preparing to apply to college?

My advice for prospective students is to slow down and enjoy the little moments. College can feel overwhelming, but taking time to enjoy campus, spend time with friends, or do something you love can make things feel less scary.
