Track Your Students Through Slate.org

With the OU Application opening today, we wanted to let you know about Slate.org, a portal that conveniently allows you to check on the status of your students’ applications at potentially over 500 universities, including OU, all with one login!

Slate.org is a free tool that is:

1. A one-stop shop where counselors can check on the status of their students who have applied to any schools that are on Slate.org.

  • As part of Slate.org, OU is allowing counselors to upload required materials directly to a student’s application, which is an instantaneous process. We will also still accept transcripts sent through the mail or an electronic transcript service. Full details about credential submission can be found here.
  • Counselors will not be able to see the actual admissions decision each student receives but will be able to tell where the student is at in the process.

2. A place to manage high school visits.

  • Counselors can connect with colleges through Slate.org to schedule visits, and those visit requests will go directly into the system where universities can accept or decline them.

If your school doesn’t already have an account, visit Slate.org and request to be verified. The request to be verified as a school administrator takes about two to four weeks since Slate.org reaches out to the schools to confirm the request. Once the account is created for a school, the first person who was verified serves as the head for the account and can then add other administrators at the school or hand off control of the account to another administrator.
