OU Health Campus and Stephenson Cancer Center provide an annual one-day program, Cure Jr. Program, for 30+ Oklahoma high school students to learn about careers in cancer research and medicine. Participants learned directly from medical professionals and researchers about Colon Cancer, Public Health, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, and Oncology as well as discussion on their personal career paths. Additional hands-on STEM activities included: cancer cell microscopy and tumor observation, bio-nanotechnology, marshmallow challenge, and a tour in our giant inflatable colon.

The University of Oklahoma policy debate team welcomes high school students who desire success in competitive debate to the Shannon Self Debate Institute. Whether a student has years of debate experience or none, they can expect their needs will be met. Our staff has been trained with a wide range of experience levels in mind. Official OU policy debate coaches and debaters will lead small groups of students to create the most productive environment possible. The combination of a small student-to-teacher ratio and collaboration among peers develops excellent skills including research, argumentation, and persuasion. Collaboration and competition with peers from a diverse set of backgrounds and schools helps create an enduring community of debaters.

The OU Sooner Flight Academy is an on-site collection of weeklong summer camps that will take place throughout June and July and are designed to provide campers ages six to 18 with fun, immersive opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) as it relates to flight from an age-appropriate perspective.

The Great Plains Saxophone Workshop is a multi-day workshop open to high school through graduate-level saxophonists. Bass Bash is an annual four-day summer camp for middle and high school double bass students. The Summer String Academy is an annual intensive summer workshop focused on the study and performance of solo and chamber music repertoire for violin, viola, cello, and piano, and the Summer Jazz Collective is OU's newest jazz education experience. The Discovery Day program is designed to showcase all that the University of Oklahoma Health has to offer. Crafted for high school students, Discovery Day will provide guidance towards a professional career in the health sciences.
By attending Discovery Day, students will be able to articulate action steps needed to pursue a career in the health sciences, given the chance to explore educational opportunities in depth, and foster connections with like-minded individuals. Students will participate in presentations from The University of Oklahoma Health’s Recruitment & Admissions team as well as the OU Norman Campus' Office of Admissions & Recruitment.

Engineering Days are a set of one-day summer camps, broken down by specific academic majors, taught by OU Engineering faculty. These camps are a way for rising high school juniors and seniors to experience what OU Engineering has to offer on-campus. Each camp is highly collaborative and will allow for students to gain an insight into what an engineering student does.

OU Esports Camps programming is designed to cater to various audiences, exclusively tailored for competitive players. Led by coaches and captains from our official OU teams, our camps aim to develop competitive players and enhance their skill sets through mentorship and performance enhancement. Drawing from our active developments, our team comprises vetted upperclassmen, alumni, and ECCI employees, ensuring a diverse range of expertise and mentorship. We offer a comprehensive curriculum covering gameplay mechanics, teamwork, and leadership skills, providing impactful opportunities for potential recruits to OU and the next generation of Sooners. Our camps prioritize creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every camper feels supported and motivated to excel.

The Engineering Summer Bridge program serves as the hallmark transition program for Gallogly College of Engineering and Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy students. Each summer, incoming first-year students descend onto OU’s campus for this four-week, residential program, which seeks to provide students with academic and psychosocial support while equipping them with a wide array of professional skillsets critical to exceling as a student at OU and adequately tackling the challenges facing our world.
July 12 through Aug. 7, 2026
Start Sooner provides incoming first-year students a unique experience that will help them transition from high school into college. Students will be able to move into the residential colleges a month early, take six credit hours in person, and explore Norman. Start Sooner offers courses taught by distinguished faculty, residential living on campus, and engaging activities for students to enjoy.

Camp Crimson is OU’s official welcome to all new students. Before classes start, you will have a week full of connecting with other incoming students, learning about OU’s history and traditions, and getting to know campus.
