Temporary Accommodations

ADRC disability professionals work with students and faculty to provide temporary equitable and effective access for students with documented temporary medical conditions to support their full participation in The University of Oklahoma classes and activities.

The Division of Student Affairs Academic Notification is more appropriate for brief  hospitalizations, COVID or flu or family events such as funerals, etc.  Please review the information to decide which avenue will be best for you.

How Temporary Accommodations Work at OU

  • Student submits a request for temporary accommodations
  • Services may be granted for up to one semester based on the student self-report and any documentation provided.
  • Updated documentation will be required if the student continues to seek accommodations.
  • Additional  information will be provided in the follow-up email after meeting with an ADRC staff member.
  • Once students with a documented temporary medical condition is registered with the ADRC they will request their approved accommodations through our online portal.
  • This portal is how instructors are notifed the student has temporary accommodations and what those temporary accommodations are.
