This conference is being held in conjunction with work on Blackwells Companion to the Ancient Near East. It is open to the interested public as well as the book's contributor's and other scholars. The volume will be a supplement to an Ancient Near Eastern history that presents a standard chronological account of the period before 3100 to 333 B.C.E. The Companion will extend and reformulate some of the important issues in that history.
