At the University of Oklahoma, Career Everywhere represents our commitment to embedding career readiness across the entire student experience. Through collaborative initiatives with faculty, staff, employers, and campus partners, we ensure that students build the competencies, connections, and confidence needed to become Sooner Ready for life after graduation.
Our initiatives focus on creating meaningful opportunities for students to develop career readiness skills both inside and outside the classroom.
Career Everywhere connects students directly with employers through industry-specific networking events, career fairs, and employer-hosted gatherings throughout the year. Programs such as Coffee with the Career Center create informal opportunities for students to build relationships with industry professionals, explore career pathways, and expand their professional networks.
The Career Readiness Inventory (CRI) is a structured assessment tool designed to help faculty and staff integrate career readiness into academic, student employment, and other co-curricular experiences. The Career Readiness Inventory measures student competency development through pre- and post-experience assessments, allowing faculty and staff to track growth over the course of a semester or year-long experience.
Through the Career Readiness Inventory, campus experiences become powerful opportunities for students to intentionally develop the competencies employers seek. If you would like more information about integrating the NACE Career Readiness+ Inventory into your work with students, please email us at careercenter@ou.edu
The OU Career Closet supports student success by removing barriers to professional preparation. Each semester, students have the opportunity to select free professional attire to help them feel confident and prepared for career fairs, interviews, internships, and professional events.
This initiative, made possible through a partnership with the OU Food Pantry, helps ensure that all students have equitable access to the resources needed to present themselves professionally while pursuing career opportunities.
Career Everywhere Workshops provide professional development opportunities for faculty and staff who want to integrate career readiness into their work with students. These sessions focus on practical strategies for embedding career competencies into coursework, advising conversations, and student programming.
By equipping faculty and staff with these tools, Career Everywhere strengthens OU’s campus-wide culture of career development.
The Sooner Ready - Student Employment Initiative elevates on-campus student employment as a powerful career development experience. Through this initiative, the Career Center partners with campus supervisors to intentionally integrate career readiness competencies into student job descriptions and workplace learning experiences.
By aligning student employment with career readiness outcomes, OU ensures that every campus job contributes to preparing students to become Sooner Ready.
