Katherine McRae's Bio

Katherine McRae is the Director of Administration for the Carl Albert Congressional Research and Studies Center.

She is responsible for the center's office management, personnel, budgets, special events, communications and facilities management. She also works on development and alumni relations. She has represented the center as a member of PACFAM, completed the Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt training in 2018 and was presented with the CAS Dean’s Outstanding Staff Award in 2020. She is the 2021-2022 Chair of the OU Staff Senate’s Staff Initiative Committee.

Before joining OU, Katherine worked for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services for 12 years where she directed and implemented the Annual Oklahoma Conference on Aging, Senior Day at the Capitol, caregiver conferences and other events. She also led the acquisition of $1.2 million in grant funds, administered several federal grant projects, led key pilot initiatives, served on key agency committees, and presented trainings at national and state conferences, as well as to local and community organizations. She also worked as an attorney for Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma and in private practice.

She earned her bachelor's from the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma marching band, and a J.D. from the Antonin Scalia Law School, George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia. She has been a licensed attorney and member of the Oklahoma Bar Association since 1992.
