My name is Anita Gurung, and I am originally from Nepal, a country renowned as the home of Mount Everest, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, and the land of the brave Gurkhas. I hold a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Biology from Amrit Campus and M.Sc. in Chemistry with a specialization in Organic Chemistry from the Central Department of Chemistry, Tribhuvan University. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Oklahoma.

My research interests center on the chemistry of small molecules and their therapeutic potential. As a result, during my master’s studies, I investigated natural product–based compounds and their relevance in cancer research. I now seek to expand this work by exploring molecular frameworks, synthetic strategies, and their applications in biological sciences and drug discovery.
