During my early days in chemistry lab, I was fascinated to see how the small differences in concentrations would affect the reaction to occur or resist. The lab-based techniques used to perform a reaction to get the desired product are like solving a mystery which gratifies me and is so much satisfying that I made up my mind to pursue my career in Chemistry. My curiosity and enthusiasm to acquire more knowledge and skills in this field boosted me to take chemistry as area of specialization in my undergraduate and graduate programs in Tribhuvan University, Nepal. With a long-term vision of being a chemist, I believe that pursing Ph.D. in chemistry at University of Oklahoma will enhance my potential and enable me to conduct further research. I am a first year student at this university.

In the years in the academe, I always had proclivity for my study which is why I got good grades for my bachelor’s degree in Tribhuvan University, Nepal. I was involved in research project dealing with the investigation of the corrosivity of soils and other interactive laboratory assignments which made me realize that I can do great in the field of Chemistry. With this belief I got enrolled in Central Department of Chemistry, Tribhuvan University for Master of Science (MSc.) program. Being a student at this university, I got opportunity to train myself through international workshop on “Research trends in Synthesis, Characterization and Application of New Materials” which allowed me to interact with veteran professors of chemistry. Also, I attended a session on “Techniques and Philosophy in Physical Sciences”, and participated in “Tools, Techniques and Advanced Data Analysis in Chemistry” in Nepal.
