I became interested in chemistry/biochemistry during my freshman year of high school, due to my inspiring chemistry teacher. Although it was a challenging class I realized quickly that it was something I excelled at and I really enjoyed it. I talked to my teacher toward the end of the year and he strongly recommended that I think about pursuing a career in the chemistry/biochemistry field. I plan on doing my research in the biochemistry field. My plans post-grad are to either join the military or find a job in the industry or government/national labs.
