Sunrise Tippeconnie’s has worked in film and television production for over fifteen years, working for directors such as Michael Winterbottom, Nick Cassavetes, David Slade, William H. Macy, David Lowery, Yen Tan, and Paul Harrill. Tippeconnie’s particular interest is working with Indigenous filmmakers and has recently worked on films with Sundance Fellows Peshawn Bread and Erica Tremblay, as well as an upcoming FX series pilot produced and directed by Sterlin Harjo. Tippeconnie also programs for film festivals, including the 2020 Native Crossroads Film Festival and is a programmer for the deadCenter Film Festival.  Tippeconnie also develops and directs Indigenous-focused fictional work with filmmaker David Burkhart, and has show world wide, including the Heard MuseumimagineNATIVE Film & Media Arts Festival, and the National Museum of the American Indian. He is currently developing a long format serial entitled Garden of Forked Paths that follows two couples as they confront aspects of Indigenous spirituality through mysterious paranormal circumstances of missing people. Tippeconnie has previously taught at Temple University and Oklahoma City Community College, and has taught film production-focus courses at OU since 2010. Previous courses include Digital Cinema Production, Editing: Theory and Practice, Direction in Narrative, Cultural Media Making, American Independent Cinema of the 80s and 90s and Long Form Narrative.
