Serra Bardin is a first year Ph.D. Student at the University of Oklahoma. She works with both OU's History department and the Schusterman Center for Judaic and Israel Studies. She received her masters specializing in American Jewish History from OU in 2025. Her research focuses on the intersection between Yiddish cultural life in the mid-twentieth century and the American West. Charting the importance of local Yiddish writers and communities in Los Angeles, her master's research highlights the women writers needed to sustain Yiddish culture in L.A. during the postwar period. She is also the Book Review assistant editor for the Journal of Women's History. She enjoys knitting and reading lakeside.
