Apply now for the Corliss E. and Esther C. Livesey Endowed Scholarship and the Sally Walker Endowed Scholarship!

In addition to History of Science Department scholarships, completing CASH qualifies students for hundreds of scholarships based on major, need, essays, special criteria, and merit, among many other factors. CASH includes financial aid scholarships, college-wide scholarships, general OU scholarships, departmental scholarships, many study abroad scholarships, as well as Campus Awards. All current undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply for scholarships through CASH.

Corliss E. and Esther C. Livesey Endowed Scholarship

The Department of the History of Science is honored to invite applications for the Corliss E. and Esther C. Livesey Endowed Scholarship.  The scholarship, which has been made possible by a generous bequest inthe names of Corliss E. Livesey and Esther C. Livesey, is awarded annually to an undergraduate student majoring in the History of Science, Technology and Medicine. 

The scholarship allows for an annual award in the amount of $1,250. 

Candidates must meet the following criteria: 

  • Must be a regularly enrolled undergraduate student majoring in History of Science, Technology and Medicine. 
  • Must have a minimum 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. 
  • Must have earned 15 hours of major coursework. 

In addition, any or all of the following may also be considered in selecting a recipient: financial need; awards and honors; leadership and community activities.

Sally Walker Endowed Scholarship

Luke Walker, an alumnus of both OU and OU Medical School, has established the Sally Walker Endowed Scholarship. Students enrolled in the History of Science, Technology and Medicine BA, the Health, Medicine, and Society BA, the History of Science minor, and the History of Medicine minor are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship is a one-year award totaling $1,250. The committee will consider all qualifying students based on merit and need.

To be eligible for the Sallie Walker Endowed Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria: (All are required)

  • Must be a full-time regularly enrolled student, enrolled in one of the following programs:
    - History of Science, Technology and Medicine BA
    - Health, Medicine, and Society BA
    - History of Science minor
    - History of Medicine minor
  • Students in either BA program need to have completed at least 15 hours of major coursework.
  • Students in either minor program need to have completed at least 9 hours of minor coursework.
