I have a laurea in Modern, Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Florence, Italy, and I obtained my Ph.D. in Italian studies from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 2012. Before joining The University of Oklahoma as a lecturer of Italian, I taught at the University at Buffalo, SUNY, where I also served as coordinator of the Italian language program and of the intermediate French language classes. Previously, in the United States, I worked at Indiana University and at The University of Arizona, where I taught a variety of language and content classes and I served as editorial assistant for the academic journal of the American Association of Teachers of Italian, Italica (Indiana University, 2009-2012).

My research interests are the relationship between literature and cinema, Italian cinema and its links with other national cinemas, connections among European cultures (especially English, French and Italian), masculinity’s studies, gender studies, translation studies, Italian American studies and language pedagogy.

At OU, I teach language and culture classes, and I collaborate with the Italian Club Baccano.

From 2017 to 2020, I also served as the Italian Studies area director for the Northeast Modern Language Association, and during my time in New York State, I collaborated with the Italian Cultural Center of Buffalo in order to favor interactions between the university and the community.
