Academic Biography:

I obtained my last degree, an International Masters in Adult Education for Social Change, from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Before OU, I taught English as a Foreign Language at the Universidad Tecnológica, UNITEC, in Honduras. Also, I have created alternative digital content for study abroad based on my three previous experiences as an abroad scholar. I have volunteered for online and on-site study abroad, have participated in artistic drawing and acting training groups, and have acted in a new Honduran movie (appearing soon). If you want to see some of this content, you can find me on YouTube, TikTok (as Dmundus Studio) or Dania Castillo Marcía on LinkedIn for more educational creations and writing pieces.

I feel deeply grateful for continuing this path in education, combining adult education and theater strategies in the Spanish language class. Another interest for me has been study abroad. Regarding the latter, I believe that through the mastering of a foreign language I have witnessed and benefitted from a diverse variety of opportunities while learning, working, and living around the world. I have been the recipient of places in three exciting academic programs: #UGRAD 2012-2013, Visiting Scholar for Louisiana State University during the summer of 2015, and most recently #IMAESC Erasmus+ 2017-2019. Currently, I am teaching Spanish 1225 and 2113. Also, I am leading the Conversation Hour every Friday with Mackenzie Cortest.
