Philosophy of Religion Forum

University of Oklahoma Philosophy of Religion Forum

About

We are delighted to inaugurate the University of Oklahoma Philosophy of Religion Forum, a regular series of events intended to bring together scholars working in philosophy of religion and related areas. The forum is designed to provide an informal and friendly environment in which participants can share current work, exchange ideas, and receive constructive feedback to one another. We especially hope to foster open discussion and a strong intellectual community among faculty members, graduate students, and visiting scholars with a wide range of philosophical interests.

The University of Oklahoma Philosophy of Religion Forum is supported by the Kingfisher College Endowment through the Kingfisher College Chair of the Philosophy of Religion and Ethics at the University of Oklahoma.

About the Kingfisher College Endowment

Kingfisher College opened in 1895 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma Territory. The college was founded by Rev. Joseph Homer Parker of the Congregationalist Church in Oklahoma Territory. Kingfisher College distinguished itself with high academic standards, producing three Rhodes Scholars in its brief, twenty-seven year existence. In 1927, the defunct Kingsfisher College transferred its academic records and library holdings to the University of Oklahoma. The trustees of Kingfisher College later established an endowed chair in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Oklahoma known as the Kingfisher College Chair of the Philosophy of Religion and Ethics.
