Hi! I am an experimental particle physicist working on the ATLAS experiment, one of the largest particle detectors at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, near Geneva.
My main research interests lie in physics Beyond the Standard Model (BSM), with a particular focus on Long-Lived Particles (LLPs).
I find these searches fascinating for two main reasons. First, if such particles exist, they could help address some of the fundamental open questions that remain unanswered by the Standard Model, including the nature of dark matter.
Second, the ATLAS detector was not specifically designed to search for long-lived particles. Detecting them therefore requires a great deal of creativity and innovation, from developing new techniques for online event selection and reconstruction to designing dedicated offline reconstruction strategies. The challenge is to identify these elusive signatures within the enormous amounts of data collected by the experiment—and, ultimately, to uncover possible hints of new physics.
