Shujauddin Syed is a Ph.D. student in Information Science at the University of Oklahoma and a Graduate Teaching Assistant in SLIS. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, where his research on applying large language models to political discourse was published at SemEval-2026 (ACL).

His current research examines how NLP and LLMs can detect, evaluate, and explain nuanced communication online, including political evasion, health misinformation, and the reliability of AI-generated content -- building on prior experience developing clinical decision-support tools at Wadhwani AI in collaboration with the LV Prasad Eye Institute.
