Three OU sociology doctoral students received research grants from OU’s Graduate Student Senate to support their ongoing research. Leslie Miller, PhD candidate, will use the grant to purchase a perpetual license to NVivo software to use when analyzing dissertation data which she collected on ostomy patients. More information about her research can be found her study's official website: http://pewpstudy.oucreate.com/. Rin Ferraro, PhD student, will use the grant to pay for transcribing interviews and compensating participants. Finally, Rafia Mallick, PhD student, will use the grant to publish her questionnaire using Maptionnaire (a mapping based survey platform) and compenstate respondents with gift cards. Rafia’s research focuses on the visual and geographic analysis of the impact of fear of crime on the usage of spaces by all gender/sexual identities.
Congratulations to you all and well done!
