Congratulations to Emily Reel who successfully defended her master’s thesis “Patient Expectations Predicting Medical Requests Based on Status Characteristics.” Her committee members include Mitch Peck (chair), Ann Beutel, and John Carl. While we celebrate all our students’ accomplishments, this one is particularly special. Emily is the first student to complete the MA degree via the accelerated BA/MA program. She was the first student ever admitted into the program and in many ways she was a bit of a guinea pig as the department figured out the ins and outs of this new program. She did not just survive the process, she rocked it.
