Peyman Hekmatpour accepts a teaching assistant professor position at Oklahoma State University

Congratulations to Peyman Hekmatpour, who recently accepted a Teaching Assistant Professor position in the Department of Sociology at Oklahoma State University (Tulsa Campus). Peyman will be starting at OSU-Tulsa in the spring of 2023, and will continue to teach and do research in the areas of social stratification, quantitative methods, global and transnational sociology, and environmental sociology. Peyman will defend his dissertation, “Global vs. Local: Panel Analyses of Economic, Political, Environmental, and Gender Inequalities in Late Capitalism,” in the fall. Peyman’s committee includes Tom Burns (chair), Cyrus Schleifer, Rob Clark, and Allen Hertzke. Peyman will miss Norman, his only home since he came to the U.S. from Iran in 2017, but he is excited and looks forward to working with outstanding students and faculty in OSU Sociology.

Well done, Peyman! We are all very proud of you!
