Stylized dark grey line.

Please join us in congratulating OU PhD Candidate Ami Frost who just officially accepted a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Sociology at Brigham Young University. Ami's research in on the Sociology of Family and Sociology of Marriage marked her as an excellent candidate for  the position in this department and she is excited to return to her undergraduate alma mater after graduating in the early 2000s. Ami is our third student off the market this cycle (Schmidgall WVU and Schutliff and joins OU PhD canidates Abby Young, Rin Ferraro, and Kyle Callen from the 2024-25 in landing a tenure track positions. That is over six PhD students placed in tenure track positions in the past two year, there must be something brewing over at OU Sociology! Ami will defend her dissertation this summer and start her new job in Fall 2026.

Congratulation Professor Frost! We are happy to send out as a representative of the best of what is happening in OU Sociology!
