Annual Events

Each year, CBN faculty members, students, and other volunteers lead hands-on outreach activities to engage and teach people about the nervous system. We participate in multiple events each year, including the Women in Science/Women in STEAM Conference in Oklahoma City and our own Brain Awareness Week event at Science Museum Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. Visitors to our exhibit can see and touch a real human brain, experience how their brain changes the way they throw as a result of wearing prism goggles, see and hear electrical signals from their own muscles, experience a proprioceptive illusion, and see how important synapses are by observing fruit flies with a temperature-sensitive mutation of a synaptic protein.
