Resources at OU Libraries

OU Libraries provide both conceptual guidance and hands-on environments for exploring AI in ways that align with research ethics, privacy, FERPA considerations, and academic values.

·      AI in the Library: A one-stop resource for information and links to resources about responsible AI use at OU.

·      AI Sandbox: “a pilot ecosystem designed to give OU students, faculty, and researchers hands-on access to cutting-edge AI tools and infrastructure.”

·      LibreChat: a generative AI tool that allows users to interact with Generative AI Models, including Large Language Models (LLM), for research and learning purposes.

·      Workshops on AI and Related Technology

·      Consultations with experts in data creation, data management, data manipulation, 3D services, informatics, visualization, and emerging technologies.

Data Institute for Societal Challenges

DISC supports AI work that emphasizes societal impact, human-centered design, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Data Institute for Societal Challenges (DISC) offers consulting services in software development, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to research teams at OU.

DISC also sponsors the Human-Centered Trustable AI Community of Practice, which brings together researchers from OU “with a shared mission to develop reliable, trustable AI systems centered around human involvement in their processes, decisions, and improvements.”

Dr. Andy Fagg, Associate Director of the Data Institute and a Presidential Professor and Associate Professor of computer science and bioengineering in OU’s Gallogly College of Engineering created a series of supercomputer and machine learning tutorials.
