Weining Ai

Weining Ai is the Newman Postdoctoral Fellow in the Institute for US-China Issues, Department of International and Area Studies at the University of Oklahoma. He received his PhD in Political Science from Arizona State University in 2023. He was born and grew up in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China. His research interests lie in foreign policy analysis, international security and political economy, and China. His research explores the processes and outcomes of economic sanctions, military coercion, international conflict and cooperation, Chinese foreign policy, and US-China relations. His research has appeared in the Journal of International Relations and Development, Journal of Contemporary China, and Journal of Contemporary European Studies.

Zhu Zhang, 2021-2022 Fellow

Zhu Zhang was the 2021-22 Newman Post-Doctoral Fellow at the OU Institute for U.S.-China Issues in the College of International Studies. She conducts her research in comparative politics with a focus on Asian politics and political economy.
