Molly and David Boren Study Abroad Scholarship

Molly Boren and former OU President David Boren believe deeply that the next generation of American leadership must function more internationally than ever before; and they believe in the interdisciplinary mission of the College of International Studies. Their generosity will provide scholarship funds for students who endeavor to expand their international experiences by participating in study abroad programs at the University of Oklahoma.

Awards are given on a competitive basis to qualified undergraduate and graduate students participating in OU study abroad programs. From those candidates who meet the selection criteria, priority consideration will be given to students majoring in International and Area Studies.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a full-time, regularly enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Oklahoma
• Any major can apply, with preference going to International and Area Studies majors
• Must be enrolled and participating in a study abroad program sponsored by the University of Oklahoma
• Must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Must have a demonstrated financial need
• Applicants may not be an immediate family member of the Donor

Preference will be given to students studying abroad in a non-western country. 

Deadline: February 1

IMPORTANT NOTE: Any student unable to complete the program will be required to return the full amount of the award to the College of International Studies.
