Enes Kanter Scholarship

This scholarship is to honor Enes Kanter, a professional basketball player originally from Turkey currently playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA. Embrace Relief recently partnered with Mr. Kanter to establish a scholarship fund supporting college students. Through connection to the Raindrop Turkish House of Oklahoma City, Embrace Relief and the Enes Kanter Education Fund was introduced to the College of International Studies. The Enes Kanter Scholarship provides recognition and financial assitance annually to undergraduate students of high academic standing and demonstrated finanical need within the College. Subject to availability of funds, the scholarship(s) may cover all or part of tuition and may also provide support for books, travel related to study abroad, fees and other educational expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a full time, regularly enrolled undergraduate student in the OU College of International Studies
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Must have a demonstrated financial need
  • Must not be the Donor or an immediate family member of the Donor
  • Additional consideration will be given to female students or students who demonstrate an interest in/commitment to increasing the prevalence of, or improving the role of, women in the field of international studies.

Deadline: February 1


Any student unable to complete the program will be required to return the full amount of the award to the College of International Studies.
