Student Travel Support Grant

The College of International Studies provides limited funds to support IAS graduate and undergraduate student travel for research and educational activities. Students may apply for a reimbursement of funds up to a maximum of $750 per academic year for travel related to research or attendance at educational programs. 

Upon completion of student’s travel, the student is required to submit receipts for airfare, lodging and taxi in order to receive reimbursement payment.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Must be a full-time, regularly enrolled undergraduate IAS student who has completed a minimum of one year of study at OU, or a MAIS graduate student who has completed at least nine credit hours of graded coursework
  2. Applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 for undergraduates or 3.5 for graduate students

Deadline: Student Travel Support Grants are awarded on a rolling basis throughout the academic year.  Students may submit their application materials at any time at a minimum of two weeks before their travel date.  

IMPORTANT NOTES:

If you are traveling out of the US, you must register your emergency contact information with OU Education Abroad (there is a $50 fee for this service), and you must purchase CMI insurance through OU Education Abroad.

Any student unable to complete the program will be required to return the full amount of the award to the College of International Studies.
