William W. Talley, II Award

Student Award

The William W. Talley, II Student Award is given every spring in even numbered years to an undergraduate alum of the Department of International and Area Studies who is currently enrolled in (or has been admitted and plans to attend) the Master of Arts in International Studies (MAIS) program at the University of Oklahoma. 


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Recognizes an outstanding student who has graduated from the Department of International and Area Studies and will be, or is currently enrolled, in the MAIS program at the University of Oklahoma
  • Currently enrolled students in the MAIS program must not be graduating to be eligible. 

Deadline: February 15, 2024

Faculty Award

The William W. Talley, II Faculty Award is given every spring in odd numbered years. The award honors a faculty member for excellence in teaching and academic service to students in the Department of International and Area Studies. Faculty who receive the award will not be eligible for consideration in consecutive competitions. 

 
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Recognizes an outstanding faculty member in the Department of International and Area Studies
  • Faculty must be nominated by an International and Area Studies student
  • Students wishing to nominate a faculty member must complete the nomination form and include a letter of endorsement regarding the excellent service of the faculty member

The deadline has passed for this award. The next faculty award will be given in spring 2025.
