Chris grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan in Sheboygan, WI where he obtained a love for fishing, softball and all Wisconsin sports teams. After graduating high school, he obtained a bachelor's degree in Earth Science from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and obatined a master's degree in Atmospheric Science from the Univsersity of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he was a founding member of the Innovative Weather Program. The program was a public/private intiative to give real-world forecasting experience to students in the world of meteorology.  In October 2008, Christ was hired by the University of Oklahoma and the Warning Decision Training Division.
