Grant is a graduate research assistant working with CIWRO and in close cooperation with the National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center (SPC) on developing a severe hazard prediction model based on machine learning approaches, model data, and objective analysis. He has participated in several NOAA-led programs and studies including the NOAA Lapenta Internship Program and the Storm Prediction Center's Hazardous Weather Testbed. Grant's research interests include research-to-operations applications, forecast analysis and verification, and numerical weather prediction model development.
