  • Testbed and Visualization Support

Justin Monroe is a Research Associate working in the Testbed and Visualization Support group. He primarily works to develop and implement the technical and software resources needed to facilitate the vision and goals of experimental PIs and stakeholders for simulated National Weather Service severe-weather warning operations in NOAA’s Hazardous Weather Testbed (HWT). This role includes constructing, configuring, and managing local and cloud-based computer resources and software necessary for each HWT experiment, and providing technical support during their operations.

His expertise is focused on installing, configuring, and debugging the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS II) and supporting software used in experiments for data interrogation and warning issuance, as well as cloud computing, data management, and software development.
