Lydia joined CIWRO as a research associate on the Developmental Research and Engineering for Applied Meteorology Team in July 2022, where she assists study of the atmospheric boundary layer through processing, analyzing, and organizing data collected by the instruments contained in the Collaborative Lower Atmospheric Mobile Profiling System (CLAMPS). Growing up in Oklahoma allowed her to experience severe weather on a regular basis, and involvement in undergraduate research further developed her interest in meteorology.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Oklahoma State University in 2020, where she also minored in computer science and geography with a certificate in geographic information systems (GIS). Before joining CIWRO, she received her master’s degree in atmospheric science from Texas Tech University.
