Michael is an AWIPS Trainer with the Warning Decision Training Division. He brings deep lifetime experience to this position both as an educator and Earth scientist. He spent a decade combined as a high school mathematics teacher and as a software systems trainer for the Pennsylvania Courts, and nearly four years in operations performing daily and weekly snow cover and sea ice analyses at the U.S. National Ice Center. His favorite parts of being an AWIPS Trainer are creating training modules and teaching new NWS employees in person during the Radar and Applications Course workshops in the NWC.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys traveling the United States and the world, especially when there's a beach or ocean involved.
