Samantha Boyd is currently a Research Associate working with the Warning Decision Training Division (WDTD) as an Instructor primarily with the AWIPS training team. She developed the Cloud Automated Scheduler (CLAS) website and deployed it to operations, providing 24/7/365 accessible cloud based simulation training to National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Offices (WFO) across the United States. Samantha has a diverse background in meteorology, ranging from research in cloud microphysics and lightning to working in operational climatology with the United States Navy for numerous years where she received multiple awards and accolades for her work. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and cat, distance running, swimming, and various forms of arts and crafts (sewing, drawing, painting, crochet, anything!).
