Steve first started working for CIWRO in January 2014 as a research scientist with the Multi-Radar Multi-Sensor (MRMS) project and is a member of the Stormscale Hydro-Meteorology group.  He works on the improvement, verification and validation of the MRMS Q3 Dual Pol QPE algorithm.  He regularly analyzes data from supplementary lower elevation angles (SLEA), available with some NEXRAD radars, to investigate potential impacts on the various MRMS hydro-meteorological algorithms. Steve also interfaces regularly with National Weather Service and DOD forecasters and management regarding the use of MRMS products in order to find ways to further improve MRMS hydro-meteorological algorithms.
