Terry's research focuses on 1) investigating the scientific and operational benefits of rapid- and adaptively scanned dual-polarization phased array radar, and 2) understanding the cloud microphysical structure associated with dual-polarization radar signatures and how that information might be used by operational meteorologists to improve severe and/or winter weather warnings. He also has a longstanding interest in storm electrification, and he has participated in numerous field campaigns over the past 25 years to collect ground-based, balloon-borne, and air-borne radar and microphysical data sets. He also serves as the CIWRO team lead of the NSSL Phased Array Meteorological Studies Team and Doppler Radar and Remote Sensing Research team.
