4 Cisco 7500 series enterprise routers have been purchased to handle the traffic within the network as well as providing efficient and secure communications between Richardson and Northbrook, IL.  These routers , two to each site (one handling inner network services, one handling external services), have been setup as a bridge between the T1 service from MCI to a 100 mb pipe into the respective networks, thru the two firewalls, and into the inner network.  The inner router has a 10 mb module in it to convert the 100 mb traffic onto the cascaded 3Com hubs @ Richardson and Northbrook.  These routers are highly upgradeable to handle growing demand of bandwidth with the company.
