Internet Navigator...  A Simplified Guide to Netscape GOLD

Compressing Folders

To "save" Hard Disk space...,

When you put electronic mail in the Trash it is stored in a Folder called trash. To actually "remove" the mail from your Hard Drive you must Empty the Trash. This will allow for more "space" in your machine.

You will "want to keep" a certain amount of electronic mail, and no matter what size your Hard Drive is..., You will fill it up! Toward that end..., Netscape will "Compress" Mail Folders.

(Obviously..., this is another way of Creating more "space' on your Hard Drive)

From your Netscape Mail Window..., (the Mail Folder Pane)
Select the Folder
you want to Compress.

Mail Window Mail Folder Pane

From your Netscape Mail Window Toolbar..., Choose File, then "Click-on" Compress Folder.

Mail Window Compress Folder Drop Down Window.

Netscape will Compress the Folder.

File Compression is not a "super important" software feature, but it is nice to have!
