All undergraduate and graduate engineering students can apply for scholarships through the Centralized Academic Scholarship Hub (CASH) at ou.edu/scholarships. The deadline is February 1st.
Computer Science Scholarships
The School of Computer Science is able to support many students through various scholarships. The requirements for these scholarships vary from merit-based to financial need. The department takes pride in the fact that many of the scholarships available to current and prospective students are set up by CS alumni.

The Gallogly College of Engineering offers a wide range of scholarships for all students, including freshmen, transfer students, and students who are currently enrolled. The scholarship requirements vary from merit based to financial need.
To be considered for scholarships from the Gallogly College of Engineering, you must apply for admissions to the University of Oklahoma before December 15th of the year before your start date at OU. Scholarships are competitive for students demonstrating strong academic merit, leadership, community service, co-curricular activities, financial need, etc.
The National Merit Finalist Scholarship is the top merit-based scholarship awarded at the University of Oklahoma. National Merit Finalists are not eligible for additional awards from the Gallogly College of Engineering during their first year, but can apply for scholarships in subsequent years.
The Diversity & Inclusion Program Scholarship Committee selects freshman students with the potential to contribute to the diversity in the Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) of the Gallogly College of Engineering. This is a competitive scholarship with academics as the main criteria for selection. Those selected will receive a scholarship for their freshman year (award varies). Once students are chosen as MEP Scholars, they must enroll in ENGR 1411/1510, the MEP Orientation class, for both semesters of their freshman year. The deadline to apply is December 15.
This scholarship is offered to incoming freshman students who are interested in using computer science to build Tribal Nations. The scholarship awards students with up to $10,000 per year for 4 years, based on financial need. Other benefits of the scholarship program include academic and social support, mentorship, internships, research opportunities, dedicated advising and service learning. Students admitted for fall 2023 are eligible. Application priority deadline is Feb.15 2023.

The Tomorrow's Engineers Scholarship is a competitive, financial need-based award for students currently enrolled in the Gallogly College of Engineering. The scholarship amount varies. This scholarship is a one-year award. Applications to reapply will be available each year through the Centralized Academic Scholarship Hub (CASH). The deadline is February 1.

The Diversity & Inclusion Program selects upperclassmen who contribute to the diversity in the Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) of the Gallogly College of Engineering. This is a competitive scholarship with essay responses and academics as the main criteria for selection. The scholarship amount varies. You must reapply for this scholarship every year to be considered. Applications to reapply will be available each year through the Centralized Academic Scholarship Hub (CASH). The deadline is February 1.
The William H. Barkow Scholarship is a competitive award for students with a declared Electrical or Computer Engineering major. The students must have completed 30 credit hours and maintain a 3.0 GPA. The scholarship amount varies. This scholarship is a one-year award. Applications to reapply will be available each year through the Centralized Academic Scholarship Hub (CASH). The deadline is February 1.
The S.C. Reed Scholarship is a scholarship for one engineering student that meets the following requirements:
a) Gallogly College of Engineering major;
b) full-time UNDERGRADUATE student that has completed at LEAST one semester at OU;
c) have at LEAST a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher;
d) must be working/employed while taking classes;
e) must have completed successfully all or part of the Calculus 1-4 series;
f) and must be self-motivated, demonstrate strong leadership qualities, and be of high moral standards.
The Sooner Engineering Education (SEED) Center of the OU Gallogly College of Engineering encourages undergraduate and graduate engineering students to apply to be named a Boggs Family SEED Scholar. This award includes a $1000 scholarship for the Fall 2017 semester.
Qualities demonstrated by the successful applicant through his or her application include
- Ability and experience teaching or mentoring younger students or peers
- Initiative and leadership for completing tasks without constant supervision
- Dependability
- Attention to detail
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Effective time management
- Strong sense of responsibility to a team work group
